Cinnamon Streusel Dessert Pizza

This original creation of mine was inspired by a dessert pizza that we used to get at Godfather’s Pizza. But, unlike most movie re-makes, this one ended up far better than the original that inspired it! Basically, it’s like cinnamon roll pizza….and what’s not to love about that???

I use homemade pizza crust, but you can use any pizza crust you like: from scratch, refrigerated pizza dough from the store, a mix or otherwise. If you use one that is already baked or partially baked, you may want to adjust the baking time. I have used anywhere from a 12 inch to 14 inch pizza crust for this recipe. You can also adjust the recipe for cinnamon streusel and frosting if you are making a larger pizza. Just adjust the serving size in the recipe below and it will automatically adjust the amount of ingredients for you…then hit print!

Mix flour, sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl. Add butter and mix with a fork until blended.  The mixture will look crumbly. Sprinkle over your pizza crust.

Bake for 9-12 min. You may need to adjust your time based on what pizza crust you use. You’ll notice in the pictures that the crust is not browned at all. I like it best when the crust is still soft. If it looks brown, it will be crispy. If you like it crisp….you can wait until it’s browned a bit.

While it’s baking, mix the powdered sugar, melted butter, and vanilla with a whisk until smooth. You can use margarine, but TRUST ME, it tastes so much better with butter! Add a few drops of water if you want a thinner consistency.  Drizzle with the vanilla glaze right away if you want the it to melt. Otherwise, wait a few minutes. You can use a frosting bag if you have one. If you don’t, make your own by putting the glaze in a ziploc sandwhich bag, seal it, and cut the corner at the end. You can see the edge of my ziploc bag as shown in the picture below. You can also just drizzle with a spoon…it will taste great either way!

This is best served warm. The leftovers…if there are any…..are great the next day, and best warmed in the microwave for about 10 seconds. 🙂 Store wrapped in aluminum foil or in an airtight container (ziploc bag works fine.) No need to refrigerate.
