I have been making these football oreo cookies the last few years for our family superbowl party! With only 4 ingredients, they are so easy to make! You can use a container of ready-made frosting or, to turn it up a notch, use my homemade cream cheese frosting recipe!
Simply combine the cake mix, eggs and oil with a mixer. Place the cookie cutter on a cookie sheet and press a tabelspoon of dough into the cookie cutter. Then remove the cookie cutter and repeat until the cookie sheet is full!
With my football cookie cutter, which measures 1 7/8″ x 3 1/2, this recipe makes 15 oreos (30 cookies using 2 for each cookie.) If you are using a larger or smaller cookie cutter, you will need to adjust the amount of dough and baking time accordingly. I got my cookie cutter in this Wilton Cookie Cutter set which you can buy HERE on Amazon.com. This set has cookie cutters in many different shapes for many holidays. I have thought about purchasing THIS SET as it has several different sizes to choose from.
If you do not have tools for decorating your football cookies, you can improvise by using a ziploc bag! Simply put the frosting in a ziploc bag, seal it, and snip the corner of the bag (be careful not to cut too much of the corner off!!) and then squeeze the bag at the opposite end, pushing the frosting out of the corner you just snipped!
